Statement of Artistic Practice
I am a collaborative artist and facilitator whose practice is rooted in healthcare, community, and participatory settings. Working primarily with video, sound, writing, and socially engaged methods, my work explores themes of care, identity, memory, and lived experience. I am committed to using creativity as a tool for connection and wellbeing, and to supporting inclusive, ethical approaches to arts practice. With a strong focus on arts and health, I aim to contribute to a culture of care within the creative sector—one that recognises the importance of mental health, dignity, and equity for both artists and participants.Education2025 – 2026 Wellbeing Coordination in the Arts and Creative Sectors – Continuing Professional Development Certificate, Adult Continuing Education (ACE), University College Cork (UCC) Supported by Safe to Create Bursary Award2025 - Train the Trainer Certificate – DCM Learning 2024 – 2025 PG Cert in Creative Arts Management, University of Galway2024 Artist Care Exchange, Age & Opportunity - training initiative for professional artists in the arts and older people in a care context2022 – 2023 Screen Production Department Skills, Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Level 7 Certificate2020 – 2021 MA Social Practice and the Creative Environment, Limerick School of Art & Design (TUS) – First Class Honours2016 – 2020 BA Contemporary Art Practices, Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (ATU) – DistinctionLonglisted for RDS Award for Postcards 2022 IMMA Summer School: Art and Politics – Self-Determination2022 Node Center for Curatorial Studies, Berlin• Exhibition Design• Curatorial Theory & Practice• A Practical Guide to Curating• Writing Art Theory: Creative Approaches2021 Experience: Introduction to Arts, Health & the Older Person – Age & Opportunity, Waterford Healing Arts Trust & Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre2021 IMMA Summer School: Art and Politics – ContainmentFacilitation
